Candide is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to exploring the culture of knowledge specific to architecture. Its framework responds to the diversity of architectural knowledge being pro-duced, while challenging authors from all disciplines to test a variety of genres in order to write about and represent architecture. The fifth issue of Candide is now available, featuring in-depth arguments by Kim Förster, Ian Pepper, and Claire Zimmerman, as well as collections of short essays and stories by authors including Katherine Romba, Maria Smith, and Lara Schrijver. As an extension of Zimmerman’s analysis, the issue also includes the first German translation, by Joseph Imorde, of Reyner Banham's 1955 seminal essay "The New Brutalism“.
